It’s nearly impossible to pick favorite John Byrne cover art! Like George Perez covers there are so many stellar works to choose from! But here are my 4 favorite Marvel covers from John Byrne (these of course could change any minute)! I apologize to FF fans! What’re your faves?
In the category of Marvel villains that I like despite their power limitations: Boomerang! Fred Myers fought the Hulk, Iron Fist, & Spidey! He was a major league pitcher gone bad, turned to crime, & had an awful original costume. But I enjoyed his part in the Sinister Syndicate!
The Human Fly! A Marvel comic (1977-78) based on real-life stuntman Rick Rojatt! Bill Mantlo wrote the series with most pencil art by Lee Elias (also Frank Robbins & Bob Lubbers). Cover art provided by Byrne, Cockrum, Bob Hall, Elias, Infantino, Lubbers & Robbins! Great costume!
At Marvel they had the Beast (Hank McCoy as the original Beast and later the blue furry Beast), Bi-Beast, and Man-Beast! At DC Comics there was Beast Boy and KGBeast! Don’t get me started on the Thing!
The Squadron Supreme or The Crime Syndicate of America? Who is your favorite evil JLA analog?

Doctor Doom! The greatest antagonist in all of Marveldom! Ruler of Latveria and mystical scientist with a penchant for villainy! Do you have a favorite appearance of Victor von Doom?

Extreme cosmic close-ups! Making a giant splash the Jack Kirby way!
Asgard and Asgardians as (maybe) you’ve never seen them before! Verily!
Who remembers the New Champions of Xander? They appeared in FF, Nova & ROM! An interesting cast of characters...Powerhouse, Comet, his son Crime-Buster and my favorite the villainous Diamondhead! There were casualties in the war with Skrulls, but I’d like to see this team again!
