As a Ceanataur ages, it'll lose its venom gland, and its pincers will become more sickle-like in nature. Instead of poison, Shogun Ceanataur now mainly depends on its pincers for defense. It usually has these pincers folded, but it'll unfold them if it feels threatened.

Sometimes considered to be a subspecies of the Hermitaur, Ceanataur are small fast-moving carapaceons that can be found living in swamps and volcanic regions. They particularly love living in caves.

Although Plum Daimyo Hermitaur is called a subspecies, it is actually the same species as Daimyo Hermitaur. Due to its different diet, this individual sports more exotic colors compared to a standard Daimyo Hermitaur.

Like its brethren, it has a red exoskeleton covering its entire body. Despite the monster's size, its hard exoskeleton is surprisingly light. While the Hermitaur have a small bony shell on their abdomen, Daimyo Hermitaur has the skull of a Monoblos on its abdomen.
