Superman has to adjust his relationship with his son, his wife, the public, and the entire galactic civilization. He constantly has to stop and think about how he interacts with his reputation and legacy.

I'm reading the last volume of the Bendis/Reis/Sinclair Superman book and that comic remains weirdly underrated. Easily a top 3 Superman comic for me. Good balance between the big dumb punching and the little moments of introspection.

Laughing at this bit where General Ross goes to Bruce Banner for scientific help after his big magnet didn't work.

@aaronmfking Jack and Stan were not subtle about dangerous regressive old men creating horrible new weapons of supernatural proportions. This 60-year-old comic by a huckster and a WWII vet is somehow still more progressive and politically charged than 99% of superhero stuff today.

Seriously though "let's run through this characters entire history in one issue and recontextualize it in light of how fucked up modern comics are" was the go-to move for DC comics in 2009. All that's missing is the Guy Major colors.
