Adams joined the creator own led revolution with his Monkeyman & O’Brien in the back of Hellboy. The plan was Hellboy would do the same in MM&OB but it took so long, that didn’t happen. In total there’s a one-shot, 3 issues and ~40 pages of b&w strips that deserve a book 17/x
X-Men Annual 12. The main story was great (Wiacek inks). But the back-up with Mojo trying out differ X-Men incarnations was catnip for me. The animals one is amazing. 10/x
@mccreaman @eshonborn Glad you liked it. This is a good one too.
Uncanny X-Men Annual 9. Simonson inks on the cover. The rest of the story started in the New Mutants special. Austin inks again. Amazing Storm design. A real career highlight. 4/x
New Mutants Special Edition. The cover show Adams’s Michael Golden influence. This is a big one and ties into the next one, so one of Adams’s biggest books. Another ‘YELLOW’ comic but available in the Essential X-Men in b&w. 3/x
@MrBitterwitter Not even. Andy’s women have always looked like the one on the left. Still do. Adam draws like his done some life drawing. Andy’s work is stylised to the point that you have to suspend disbelief and roll with it. Adam’s has some real physics. (All from 90s)
Sgt Rock Prophecy variant la by Joe’s boys. The idea that people can’t tell the different between the styles baffles me. I’ve come to love them both
If anyone in the UK or nearby finds a copy of this JLA Deluxe HC 2, let me know
Gil Kane. My Kane well isn’t as deep as many but I love what I love. What If with Janson was my first, a gift from a friend. Sword of Atom is gorgeous nonsense. I used to have a customer who had every Spider-Man BUT Kane’s. He’d press his nose like a pug and rant about Kane. 😳
