Groo #2 Pacific. A great busy street with some cheeky details. Opium and working girls.

Fraser Irving. Cartoonish figures, a pioneer of digital painting and good storyteller, Irving started on 2000ad but has floated around the big 2 on minis and fill-ins, working with Morrison and Casey. Fairly prolific and always striking to look at. He should be bigger!

Ironwolf Fires of the Revolution. Chaykin says it’s the worst selling GN DC ever published. It’s a shame as it’s great. Tied to Chaykin’s Twilight series. Russell back on inks. Really good fantasy sci-fi. 17/x

Reading the Simonsons’ X-Factor. It’s been a chore story wise. Comics of a specific time and following the Claremont mould. But the art really sings at times. You can see the influence of Walt on all the image guys from here (in case you couldn’t before)
