Today is the 1040 anniversary of the birth of Ibn Sina, known in the #West as #Avicenna, considered as one of the greatest philosophers in #History and the father of modern #medicine and one of the greatest figures in #Khorasan´s history.

Along with the ordinary Dutâr in Herat we have also a modified variant called "Dutâr-e Herati", which has 14 strings. It sounds a little bit different.
"Zamburak" (#Persian زمبورک "Little Wasp") was a specialized form of self-propelled #artillery, featuring small #cannons fired from swivel-mounts on #camels
Zamburaks most likely originated in the Timurid or Safavid empires and became highly popular in the 18th century.
