I threw another good ol' quad remesh over it (even though I will remesh the entire character in the end anyway). Also intentionally keeping the palm a bit flatter than the one in the reference, since that one is already posed. And let's not forget I added the beans :P
Now this is exactly one of those 'eureka!' moments where the
"oh gosh this looks so bad, I want to quit... o_0"
turns into a
"oh actually this is starting to look somewhat okay-ish! :)".
It's probably also a good time to start polishing the bottom of the paw.
Still a bit more polishing to do, but there's definitely progress since the last version, which is very motivating. I already added some nails to give it a bit more realism. Helps with the shape I think
Starting off with the paws - these really need a lot of polishing, lol.
For reference; this was the scene & lighting setup I was trying to recreate. It makes sense that Disney has a team of hundreds of people that work together on movies like these.
@MaRtin_soDOPE Thank you! -haha yeah I'm really happy with the fur at the moment. The hair still needs some fine tuning, and of course some material improvements (the hair strands should end with a purple/lilac colour). This is the colour scheme I'm trying to recreate:
@Gorro_Rojo A combination of that, I modeled a simple hair shape and placed a few around (scaling, rotating and moving), trying to keep it a bit close to the original. The base mesh (that the hair is connected to) helps a lot too, and looks like this:
Still work in progress, but this is what I have been working on in the past 4 hours. Staring at it for too long sometimes blinds the eye to obvious problems, so I am curious to see what feedback anyone might have.
