Fatal Fury 2 (1994, Takara) - Genesis/Mega Drive
Sharp Pixels vs. Genesis Composite via Sony PVM-20L2MD
As much as I like examples from the Genesis 2's native composite, I would love some way to improve it a bit. I've been mulling over buying a 32x, but MAN $100+ is a big ask.
Fatal Fury 2 (1994, Takara) - Genesis/Mega Drive
Sharp Pixels vs. Genesis RGB via Sony PVM-20L2MD
My first Sega Genesis game! And a pretty impressive port too, tho not as impressive as the insane Game Gear version. I love the sharper image for arcade ports like this personally.
The Ninja Warriors (1994, Natsume) - SNES
Sharp Pixels vs. SNES S-Video via Sony PVM-20L2MD
My favorite SNES beat em up finally gets the comparison treatment. The art in this game is on another level. It could hold its own against pretty much any other game on the SNES.
Harvest Moon: Back to Nature (1999, Natsume) - PS1
Sharp Pixels vs. PS1 Composite via Sony KV-13M51
Harvest Moon aka Story of Seasons is always a vacation game for me and since I'm on vacation, I've prepared several nice examples from Back to Nature (my favorite) for this week.
@5Xpixels Thanks! I appreciate all your work as well! Composite on a PVM can look really nice. It's from a time a while ago when I was comparing the difference over RGB. Still love both!
Hagane (1994, Hudson) - SNES
Sharp Pixels vs. SNES S-Video via PVM-20L2MD
My camera's tendency to turn purples to blue strikes again, but it is what it is. Once again love the amount of detail still present here, but with a moodier tone overall.
Chrono Trigger (1995, Squaresoft) - SNES
PC Emulator vs. SNES S-Video via Sony PVM-20L2MD
Wanted to do an update of this example since I feel that my photos have improved a lot, but also because Chrono Trigger rules.
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (1995, Rare) - SNES
Sharp Pixels vs. Wii Composite via Sony KV-13M51
The Wii's picture is much sharper than my actual SNES and Wii's composite video is the clearest I've seen, so you've still got a lot of pixels coming through here.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (1994, Sega) - Genesis/Mega Drive
Sharp Pixels vs. Wii S-Video via Sony KV-27S42
One of my favorite consoles just turned 15, so in celebration of its massive and continued benefit to retro gaming, this week's examples will be taken from the Nintendo Wii.
@SnatcherAlpha The image you're referencing's pixels are not square. You're mistaken. If they were PAR 1:1 they'd look like the image on the left.
