Here's a piece I created for the upcoming #Northernillustrationprize The theme was Renaissance and I decided to respond to this in a very direct way, drawing inspiration from the heroic depictions of Saint Michael and Saint George that were painted throughout the period.

Saddened to hear about the passing of Legendary illustrator Victor Ambrus. One of my favourites from childhood with his work bringing to life the Time Team digs. His work still remains a huge influence on my art and I've been collecting many of his books over the past few years.
