I did a rewrite over lunch today.
I tightened up the opening with Rhea, as she beckons you into The Witch Bush, where you meet April, May and June.
June tells the story that Brandy told the Sand Keeper, at the gate of the void.
It's all a little sharper now.

I choose graphite, because pencil work is the best way for me to put power behind emotional nuance. Line becomes somebody's story.

Brandy tells:
She was a regular little night owl too, but why should I care? That's what I do too, shout and cry my feelings into the nighttime. Some apples, they don't fall far. If feeding time was late, the night was ours.

She jumped up with a start, and wiped tears and snot from her grimy face with her fingers.
“Who are you?” she demanded.
“I am The Sand Keeper.”
“Did you see a little girl in a blue dress jump into this fog?”
“I did.”
“Is that the void?”
“Yes.”

She is in love.

The weary path coming along. I just trace stuff over the watercolour, going by what the blobs of colour suggest. Going for a feeling. A nowhere that is everywhere.
