@VTuberOfTheWeek I said maybe, because I think robot girls that look like mecha musume could be a type of mechanical monster if you're afraid of planes, guns, & ect.

If you want more 'Seinen' with its demographic but still magical girl, there's also Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. I can't vouch for it since I haven't actually seen it, but it was pretty much the Madoka Magica of its time during the early & mid 2000's. Highly praised at the time!

If you're one of those folks who are like 'idk, I kind of wanted something more mature and aimed at an adult audience' then Madoka Magica is That One. I wouldn't call it a 'dark subversion' nor a 'deconstruction' of the genre, but this one was made with adult males in mind, so...

If you want a show with iconic 80's style, and don't mind missing out on the monster of the week formula, then Creamy Mami is worth considering. Easily the best looking show of this era; if you like J-pop and want a look into the height of 'idol' hype, then this is It.

Pretty Cure is one of those long running kids shows that rotates its core cast of characters every season, but is still part of the same metaverse. Most fans recommend starting with Heart Catch Precure, but there's no set order. Just follow what vibe you think looks appealing!
