So @wizards_magic is going back to #Ixalan? Don’t know how @MTGSecretLair picks guest artists but it would be a real missed opportunity if they didn’t have a set of #dinosaur cards illustrated by real professional #paleoartists. Maybe reskinned as real species? Just sayin 🤷🏻♂️
For #drawdinovember #watercolor sketches on index cards this year. Here’s #Torosaurus, #Qianzhousaurus,#Hatzegopteryx, and #Mahajangasuchus. I’m happy to sell these pretty cheap if anyone wants a small original painting. DM if interested. #Archovember
@Antrodemus I def painted them more upright here but they’re not eating trees!!!
@Antrodemus It wasn’t until the late 90s that scientists discovered Plateosaurus may have done stuff other than stand up tall and eat a tree.
Plus we had the midway color scheme of a individuals just starting to grow reddish adult feathers starting at the head, reflecting a specific age seen in the fossils. Again also frequently observed in living feathered dinosaurs. (Birds) #SnowGoose
We needed to show color differences between mature and juvenile animals so I sent these sketch concepts. Juv is brown with streaks while mature is bold red/white, purple face skin, slight wattle, and a thicker mane of neck feathers.(mostly choice B) #paleoart
In case you missed it. The latest #BeastoftheWeek was #Styracosaurus. Updated from 2015! https://t.co/VtcnD1LUnm
Newest #watercolor is of two #Styracosaurus working out a territory dispute. This is actually a redo of a painting I did in 2011 with the same composition and color scheme. #paleoart #dinosaur #canada #ceratopsian #cretaceous #scicomm
