Byron’s unfinished vampire story “Fragment of a Novel”, written in response to his own ghost-story challenge the night prior at Villa Diodati, was dated & likely written #OTD 17 June 1816. Byron’s fragment, as well as #Byron himself, both influenced Dr. Polidori’s “The Vampyre”.
