Professor X & his X-Men, by Michael Cho.
MC makes his cast look convincingly like mid-teens. I would love to read some stories about these versions of the characters.
Batman at the bus stop, by Dave Collinson.
Splendid. And I would buy this comic.
I’ve taken to picking up old books by Shirley Hughes. The likes of “Lucy & Tom’s a.b.c.” might not grab me in terms of text, but heavens above, her illustrations are flat-out wonderful!! So closely observed, so brilliantly executed! Awe is not an inappropriate response.
Judge Dredd & Sensitive Klegg, the cover art by Chris Weston for 2014's 2000AD #1889.
I'm in awe of Chris Weston's art. And looking at these scans, I realise I struggle to think of another artist whose work is as totally beguiling in both black & white and colour.
The Scarecrow in pursuit of Batman, by Jae Lee, Greg Pak, June Chung, and Rob Leigh, from 2014’s Batman/Superman #13.
A perfect panel, I’ll venture.
Arrived round our way at last, Moon Knight: The Complete Collection. One chapter in and I can see why it's been described as a strong influence upon the Marvel/Disney show.
Currently on repeat: the exquisite title track of Traffic’s The Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys.
59th Street, New York City, by Helen Farr Sloane, 1930.
Original Mike Ploog art featuring the cast of his 1990 adaptation of Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
Gene Colan & Tom Palmer’s original, and really rather brilliant, cover art for 1969’s Doctor Strange #176.
