The International Cryptozoology Museum, , Portland, Maine, is open 7 days a week, 11 am to 6 pm. The doors are locked at 5:30 pm but you are allowed to remain as a visitor until closing time. Founded in 2003.

Paul A. Smith, 67, the artist who created the painting Simon and Schuster used for the cover of my 2003 book, Bigfoot! The True Story of Apes in America, died June 27, 2021. Truly appreciate Paul personally for the art he did for me & the Museum. More soon.

The felid illustrated on the cover of the Bords’ Alien Animals (1980) represents the “Mystery Pumas” in their subcategories. “Melanistic Mystery Cats” are, at most, only 40% of all reports of “Alien Big Cats.” The head, however, looks more like a tiger than a puma.

The International Cryptozoology Museum does have a tiki bar as our admission desk. More importantly we have Miguel Covarrubias maps throughout and appreciate his art from Ivan T. Sanderson’s work.
