@GamesCageX I think this is the best depiction of Modern Yoshi ever. I really dislike how he looks in his 3D Models.
Me: "I will finally do my homework and then go to sleep"
Also Me: "Let's try to draw myself but as spritework"
@gamermakerguy counterargument:
Brown rings started appearing in games a few years after Super Mario World, but he still had the yellow spikes at the same time.
It wasn't until the GameCube era that his spikes because beige. The color palette in the new sprite is definitely based off modern.
@JohnSan18410504 @MarioBrothBlog The only problem I have with Bowser is that his new sprite is based off of his modern design. It doesn't look like Classic Bowser. His hair needs to be oranger, his body needs to be oranger, and his horns/spikes should be yellow. I don't know why they decided to make him modern.
@a_kinopio If not Yoshi's Story, then Yoshi's Island is where the modern design originated.
irrc that's where he first was given hands. It's a subtle difference from other depictions of Classic Yoshi, but it's closer to the modern design than others like Super Mario Kart and Yoshi's Cookie
@a_kinopio Yoshi's Cookie still has the same qualities as the Animalistic designs of other games of the era. Yoshi's Story is when they got rid of his neck, gave him the ball nose, and the eye-socket head.
I know they were babies, but the design has persisted with adult Yoshi.
@NintendoMemo This is the perfect Thwomp design. A mix between the classic and the modern design.
It's great. I hope we see it in similar forms in the future, such as more 2D promotional art, or in games such as Paper Mario
