Laila Cries Over Majnu’s Grave, Sarada Ukil

In this gorgeous painting, Sarada Ukil (1888 - 1940), a Bengali actor and artist, delicately portrays Laila’s regret and agony at the loss of her beloved.

September heralds autumn and apple season, so when we stumbled across this painting titled 'Kashmeeri Apples' we couldn't help but share.
Attributed to Abdur Rahman Chughtai, this painting was part of his series based on his travels to Kashmir.
