Did you know the most fearsome monster in D&D, the Tarrasque, was not originally in D&D? The Tarrasque didn't debut until Advanced D&D's Monster Manual II in 1983, 9 years after the game was first published. More in comments. 🧵 #ttrpg #dnd #dndhistory
2 of the girls who play in the D&D game I DM for my daughter are moving this month & leaving our game. @redwyrmofficial wrote 1 of his famous rap songs for them & @wmwconnors created these character illustrations! Thx so much! I love this community! #dnd #ttrpg #ttrpgsolidarity
Happy Monday! Between 1977 & 1983, TSR (pre-WOTC publisher of D&D) published 3 different books of monsters for 1E Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. Today I'll talk about different art styles in those 3 books, starting with the covers. Which is your favorite? #dnd #ttrpg #dndhistory 🧵
Happy Thursday! D&D Orcs have changed quite a bit since their 1st appearance in 1974 Original D&D. Here are pics of orcs from the Monster Manual for 1E (1977), 2E (1993), & 3.5 (2003). I also included an orc pic I drew ~1988. Link in comments. #ttrpg #dnd #orcs #worldbuilding
Happy Wednesday #ttrpg & #dnd fans. What're you reading now for inspiration for your games? Here are 4 things I've read/am reading to inspire my game: 1 "genre" novel, 1 comic book, 1 non-fiction book, 1 "other" novel. I want to hear about yours! #worldbuilding #currentlyreading
#RaisingAGeekGirl - from 5 years ago. My daughter drew this dragon for me based on the guidelines from the old Ed Emberley's Drawing Book of Animals. Anybody else remember this book? I had it as a kid. I think my daughter did a pretty good #dnd Green Dragon.
