🕊️THE ANGEL🕊️
One of Marvel's earliest characters — no secret identity or anything, he's just a rich P.I. who sometimes dresses like Superman and everybody just kind of rolls with it because he's awesome. That's how they did it in the Golden Age, baby
My online output is 2% mashups of public figures with comic book characters and 98% kvetching about diegesis in Batman comics
@C_M_Heath96 Ooh, tough -- much as I love the Paul Smith/Original Madelyne Prior era Cyclops, Morrison's New X-Men Scott is just SUCH an incredible character, so I have to go with that one.
And then there’s the staging; he’s leaping around, skidding, dodging, while they stay in place waving an imperious palm at him. Classic villain staging. Our guy's being sniped at.
He’s also the only dark thing in the frame. Even the visuals of the scene are aligned against him.
He transforms, gathers his strength, and rises. Total Spider-Man stuff. Centering himself, he POUNCES —

We start on Fengxi as he struggles to pick himself up off the ground. The angle’s super tight — we have no view of the scene beyond him. Like baby chickadees, we’re immediately imprinting on this guy.
