The Spiked Hare Japanese name is called Almiraj (アルミラージ), which is based off the mythical creature with the same name “Al-mi'raj”.

So, I believed that it might be the latter. Since two-tailed pucks are normally seen ordering others around and bosses normally have three tails.

In the Slime Morimori series, it would seem that certain Platypunks and monsters affiliated with the Plod tend to possess more than one tail. With Don having a total of 7 tails, this could mean that the number of tails specifies one’s ranking in the Plob from least to greatest.
