@FunkDoc1112 @HarrisonRFox Krillin's eyes also changed as he grew older. They appear squinty and skin-colored on his first appearance on Roshi's island. Then the more time he spends with Goku, the more round and white they become. Or in real life, Toriyama changed his appearance as the series evolved.

But yes, that scene occurs at the end of Journey to the West, on the pilgrim's way back to China. There's a lot more Toriyama can borrow from Journey to the West, so ya' never know what he might do.
