@Matt_Alt Hi, Matt. Does your book discuss Dragon Ball and it's global popularity? According to an Oricon survey, DB is the most-recognized anime and manga. I've written several books about the culture, history, and fandom of Dragon Ball, including the 7-volume Dragon Ball Culture series.
@AlbertVA9 Piccolo's the coolest.
Side tangent: I was just thinking about how Piccolo always cracks his neck and then spits on the ground after getting pummeled. Like, 'That all ya' got?'
@MYmuseyip1995my I theorize that Goku's techniques are written in hiragana and kanji because he's an Eastern Earthling, while Vegeta is a Western alien. Similar genetic natures, but different environmental nurtures. I describe more of these cultural contrasts in my DBZ "It's Over 9,000!" book.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - "A fascinating, insightful, and even inspirational analysis. Who knew that a meme could lead to such deep revelations about the philosophies underlying the writing of Dragon Ball Z and about the human condition? Derek Padula, that's who." https://t.co/Aameqpod9s
