The Eisners nominations are generally great, but I am particularly happy about the love for CROWDED, which might be my favourite current comic. It’s a stunning, hilariously awful look at the world that’s right around the corner, with razor-sharp writing and revelatory visuals.
I had intended to read it a few days ago, but I only just got to LITTLE BIRD, which is stunning. It’s a rich, brutal work, its great writing elevated by some of the best I’ve seen in years, with Bertram and Hollingsworth serving some earnestly revolutionary art. Amazing.
I just finished reading the first arc of CROWDED in one sitting, and it is still absolutely delightful. Honestly, the more I think about this book, the more I absolutely adore it. I can’t express just how much I love it. A blisteringly smart, wildly entertaining work. @ElusiveJ
I think a lot about what Gerard Way’s unpublished BATMAN: KINGDOM OF THE MAD would’ve been like. I honestly love these designs, and I’ve gone on record plenty of times to say how much I love Way’s comics.
I got SPINNING as a birthday present from @lianakangas, and it is incredible. It’s minimalistic, and sincere, and breathtaking in every possible way. I can’t recommend it enough—absolutely stunning.
Finally, more information on FRIENDO! A story of virtual reality and real violence, of rules and chaos, of marketing and malice. Written by @AlexPaknadel, and out in September, and I cannot wait.
81.) In July, two delightful universes meet, and nothing will ever be the same again! ARCHIE MEETS BATMAN '66—what more do I need to say?
14.) DOCTOR STAR AND THE KINGDOM OF LOST TOMORROWS, the new spin-off from the brilliant BLACK HAMMER debuting March 7th, looks like a terrific take on legacy heroes, family, and superheroes in general. @MaxFiumara
