39.) GIGA, launching in July, has seen mechs piloted and worshiped at wartime, and investigates what their place in society is during times of peace—and what happens when one of those metal war-gods dies mysteriosuly. This book looks stunning, and I am extremely excited. @adityab
MAXWELL’S DEMONS is a beautiful, ambitious book, telling the life story of the world’s greatest supervillain, from youth to adulthood. A formally inventive love letter to comics that never loses its sense of wonder. @adityab
VENOM: THE END is an absurd amount of post-post-post-apocalyptic, maximalist, cosmic fun. Somewhere between HoXPoX and IMMORTAL HULK #25, yet absolutely its own thing, with some extremely interesting ideas, beautifully executed and gorgeously visualized. @theCHAMBA @chrisrobinson
25.) April 29th sees another long-awaited debut in ADVENTUREMAN #1, in which this excellent creative team telling the story of a long-forgotten pulp hero and the legacy he left behind. I am very excited. (Written by Matt Fraction!)
Unsurprisingly, Rafael Grampá’s take on the Flash is extremely good.
BIRD BRAIN is a genuine gem of a book. I’ve been a fan of @charlubby for a long while—I think it was @chaoticute who introduced me to her work—and this book is a great reminder of why. Funny and visceral and relatable and so good. Grateful to @AvivaMaiArtzy for getting me a copy.
I read COFFIN BOUND on the plane yesterday, and I’m still trying to figure out what to say about it. It’s a symphony of discomfort, fascinating and captivating—a beautifully lurid experience, with arresting imagery, poetic destructiveness, and utterly brilliant ideas. @adityab
With #9, CROWDED remains my favorite current book—its charm and energy are unequaled, copious amounts of fun and wit beautifully set to paper and visualized. Everyone on this team keeps leveling up, and it is a remarkable thing to watch.
