Apteribis was a flightless ibis from Hawaii with tiny wings. Preserved feathers indicate it was mottled brown, suggesting it could be paedomorphic. With a long probing bill, it may have been Hawaii's equivalent of a kiwi. #IslandFaunaWeek #paleoart [3/n]

A quick and very speculative #TriassicWeek themed sketch of a purported female Placerias. I've read that only half or so specimens actually have the unique fake-tusk 'horns', suggested to be sexual dimorphism, which I don't think I've ever seen reconstructed. But... (1/2)
