@TedRechlin @rextoothstudios 🦕 were the most successful group of herb. dinos. They reigned supreme during the "Age of Dinos", were globally distributed, & in many formations they were the dominant herbivores (& in some, the most common dinos!) We have 'pods on EVERY continent - even Antarctica!

Welcome #Punatitan_coughlini & #Bravasaurus_arrierosorum by Hechenleitner et al 2020. & they describe an egg locality that spans over 3 km! Punatitan & Bravasaurus might be the 1st colossosaurian titanosaurians in NW Argentina. (Colossosauria is also the best clade name)

Another brilliant #sauropod kinematics paper by @raptordanny et al! Digitally assembling #Spinophorosaurus shows how wedge shaped sacral and posterior dorsal verts & elongate forelimbs aided in more vertical posturing and higher browsing. Great paper!

#FossilFriday announcement: I'm doing a new digital series through the @DinosaurMuseum! Called CENTRUM: A Paleo Roundtable, see what questions some of paleontology’s tops minds ask when the tables are turned and they get to interview one another. (more info below)

For #MarginocephalianMonday (I'm bored & trapped inside, so just give me this one) I am absolutely amazed by the Pachycephalosaurus @monarobot did! No commonplace "Sandy" or "Zerbst's Dome" ... this is the granddaddy of them all ... AMNH 1696. Look familiar @CCMEkalaka & @AMNH?
New #sauropod research! Schwarz et al re-described the historic "Cetiosauriscus" (aka Ornithopsis) from Switzerland. Not only is this a phenomenal description, but we also get a "new" sauropod: the team renamed this material #Amanzia_greppini.

Not only is this new research by @CrocHolliday et al amazing, but check out this reconstruction by @BrianEngh_Art! I am in awe of Brian's skills, & this is MOST DEFINITELY 1 of my favorite pieces of #paleoart! Hopefully we'll have another insane Engh paleo piece in the works soon
Oryctodromeus - Prairie dog of the Cretaceous! (possibly...but I buy it 100%) A great new paper by @IdahoOrycto et al on the 1st burrowing dino. Oycto taphonomy was my undergrad thesis, & the work LJ has done (& more great work to to come!) is superb. Congrats LJ & team!
Check out Bajadasaurus pronuspinax by Gallina et al! That is a bifid beast. What the hell is up with those neural spines (taphonomic?)?! Finally, another taxon that will help us figure out what the heck Amargasaurus-like sauropods were doing with their nuchal ligament.

Wells & Camens’ paper on Thylacoleo is superb! I thought I was simply going to learn about a wicked marsupial predator, but the depth and discussion on marsupial vertebral kinematics is outstanding! And look at that vertebral series figure! :D
