#94 Astolfo
Astolfo is 100% fictional. He first appears in an anonymous poem La Prise de Pampelune and from there becomes a major comedic character in other epic Italian romance epics. It is he who flies to the moon to retrieve Roland’s sanity, because roll with it.
#92 Ryougi Shiki
One of the most identifiable and famous Type-Moon heroines of all time, this is far from her first crossover appearance. Shiki has appeared in Fate/Extra, Melty Blood, Carnival Phantasm and more. (More in alt text!)
#91 「 」(Void Shiki)
The secret third personality of Ryougi Shiki. Truly the embodiment of a hidden boss character, assuming she cared enough to spring into action. She is a true neutral who witnesses everything, but views everything as a dream. Read Kara no Kyoukai!!
#90 Nero Claudius
Nero was super into the arts and athletics, to the extent that he bribed the Olympics officials for a year so he could participate. This was highly criticized, claiming that his participation stifled creativity and performance. (Alt text for more)
#88 Brünhilde
The inspiration for her legend (and by extension Kriemhild’s) is possibly based off Queen Brunhilda of Austrasia. Brunhilda married Sigebert I and was regent no less than 3 times. With age she became more vicious, contributing to her image as a lady of war.
#87 Finn McCool
A great hero in Irish mythology, many of his traits were later given to—you guessed it—King Arthur. In particular, he is the OG Once and Future King, believed to return to save Ireland in a crisis. Many places have mythological ties to him, especially Staffa.
#86 Mysterious Heroine X
MHX originally appeared in the 2013 April Fool’s event, where Satsuki and other B tier heroines teamed up to defeat the 12 gold heroines in a parody of Saint Seiya game. They then added her to FGO for reasons I can’t fathom. At least the game was fun.
#85 Karna
The child of the sun god and a princess, Karna was abandoned as an infant due to his mother having him out of wedlock. She put him in a basket in the Ganges River hoping someone would find him, much like the famous tale of Moses. Scholars have + (cont in alt text)
#83 Solomon
What, he’s in the Graph, okay? He’s fair game.
The historicity of Solomon hotly debated to this day, the only thing historians can agree on is that Biblical depictions of the kingdom of Israel are greatly exaggerated. The part about having 700 wives too.
#59!! Joan of Arc
I am so sorry I somehow skipped her!! My bad!! 🥲🥲
She started to have visions of St. Michael when she was thirteen. The visions later extended to include St. Margaret and St. Catherine. A prophecy attributed to Merlin predicted that she would save France.
