Fittingly, Martha is the patron saint of butlers, cooks, homemakers, servants and so on. She is often associated with brooms, keys and of course, Tarasque.
In Eastern Orthodox tradition, she is also one of the myrrh-bearers who discovered the tomb of Jesus empty.

Little is known about Okuni’s life, though she is credited with the creation of kabuki and by extension, Takarazuka. While her acting troupe was entirely female, the shogun later put a ban on women performing, thus transforming kabuki into what it is today.
