Lost Pokemon of the Day: Madame
22 years before Sirfetch'd, there was Madame. Gold & Silver's 1997 demo contained many Pokemon that were later scrapped -- including Madame, who evolved from Farfetch'd at level 24.

Beta Ledian:
In Gold & Silver's 1997 demo, Ledian was completely different, and his name was Mitsuboshi, meaning "Three Star Ladybug." But he was later redesigned and renamed.

Lost Pokemon of the Day: Kotora family
These electric tigers were created during Gen 1's development, but ended up getting cut. A few years later, they were planned to return in Gen 2... but sadly, got cut again.

Beta Magby:
In Gold & Silver's 1997 demo, Magby evolved at level 15. But he was later redesigned and changed to evolving at level 30 for Gold & Silver's 1999 release versions.

Lost Pokemon of the Day: Cheep & Jabetta
First discovered when Gen 1 beta assets leaked in 2019, this two-stage Pokemon family was originally created during the development Red & Green... but ended up getting cut.

Beta Sneasel:
In Gold & Silver's 1997 demo, Sneasel was originally pure Dark-type and looked much more like a weasel. But his design was later revised, and he was changed to half Ice-type.

@Jezper17 Well, it's all interpretative of course. But here's another example -- one more piece of 90's Cloyster artwork, compared to modern Cloyster. The way I interpret it, the Cloyster of the left has a pearl. The Cloyster on the right has a light reflection, like Red & Green Cloyster.
Beta Houndoom:
In Gold & Silver's 1997 demo, Houndoom was classified as pure Fire-type, and bore some subtle differences to his final design -- most notably, his cat-like eyes.

Lost Pokemon of the Day: Barunda
First revealed in the 2018 Japan-exclusive manga "Satoshi Tajiri: The Man Who Created Pokemon," Barunda was created during Gen 1's development... but didn't make the final cut.
