Forgotten Pokemon Region: Orre
To this day, the Orre region has only ever been featured on the Gamecube -- it's where the stories take place in Gen 3's side-games, Pokemon Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness.
The last time Pokemon fans got a chance to visit Orre was in 2005.
Beta Scizor:
In Gold & Silver's 1997 demo, Scizor was originally Bug/Flying type and evolved at level 41. But he was later revised to Bug/Steel and evolving via trade with a Metal Coat.

Serperior DOES have hands!
Lead Pokemon designer Ken Sugimori: "...Serperior actually has a pair of small hands as well, you know. He just keeps them folded behind his back, looking regal (laughs)."

Beta Blissey:
In Gold & Silver's 1997 demo, Blissey was originally named "Happii" (Happy), and evolved from Chansey at level 45. She was later renamed and revised to evolve via friendship.

Beta Gyarados:
In December 2018, Pokemon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara showcased Gyarados's Gen 1 beta sprite on Japanese television, revealing the original, much more bizarre Gyarados design.

Early Dragonite:
Red & Green's sprites show Dragonite with a ridge on his back. This is Dragonite's earliest known design, pre-dating his artwork. His ridge was never seen again.

In Gen 2, there are seven Pokemon that evolve via high friendship: Pichu, Togepi, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Eevee, Chansey, and Golbat.
But in Gold & Silver's 1997 demo, the friendship mechanic didn't exist -- all these Pokemon evolved by leveling up (except Togepi, who didn't evolve).
