This late 2nd c mosaic found in a possible #Roman church at Silchester #Hampshire was lovingly recorded in a watercolour by George Edward Fox in 1892😍

It was lifted in 1961 for Reading Museum

Subsequent energetic soil clearance revealed this face, a 4th c AD #Roman mosaic portrait of the Trojan prince Ganymede

Found near #Halnaker #WestSussex before 1970, this life-size bronze arm came from a #Roman statue of a god or emperor and can be seen in the excellent @TheNovium
