One of the finest depictions of the #Caburn / #MountCaburn #hillfort #EastSussex is also by one of our favourite artists, Eric Ravilious, a view from his studio in 1935 which, minus the horse-drawn ploughs, is as just as familiar today 🤩

A #Roman villa was unearthed at East Coker #Somerset in 1753 and again in 1820

Sadly the walls were robbed for stone and the mosaics stolen but some record of their grandeur survives
