Fireworks can be stressful for people who have fled from war, people with military trauma, and people with auditory sensitivity/sensory issues. (+ little kids and pets).

Thinking this weekend of my newcomer students and families who have recently arrived from areas of conflict.

7yo said a girl in her class told her that "girls can't marry girls and boys can't marry boys". Now 7yo wants to loan the other kid's family some of our favourite books so that they can understand. Oh, how I love this kid. @EstherThePig 🌈
