Amuro Ray and Amuro Ray?
... nah, the other is Kaori Makimura, but both are animated by Sunrise Inc.
@TomAznable "The Boris character started as bear who was tired of these comic books and decides to kill them in a hyper-violent style reminiscent of 1980s films such as Rambo. After the first issue, Boris the Bear continued to fight parodies of comics." - wiki
We've seen how Cartoon Network and Toonami handled giant robots before, but never @adultswim proper and never an existing franchise.
Gundam-San, SD Gundam, and various Gundam manga pushed the edge on how far things could go before Sunrise said "That's too far." What about AS?
@fucksuke @ZakuAurelius Not to be that guy, but... Getting these vibes.

@seijikanoh @MARUfujiya When I was in Shibuya last year, I had to ship these books to my hostel because TMS shop didn't support international shipping. It would be nice to support the studio more directly. I know royalties don't always pay as well as direct sales.
@ftLoic It's worth noting this was the shot before the one you shared. A mix of clever animation transitions to make it seem like there wasn't a cut. Add in moments where you could really feel the weight of the character.
I imagine Toei was using Dai as an experiment, hence the 3D.
Have to admit a clean simple look would probably be fashionably more acceptable, but I also know people would certainly love a Z'Gok bucket hat.
