If it wasn’t for the artwork & tactile opportunities I’m afraid to say I’d have walked past prehistory displays of tools @MANArqueologico I ❤️ their (consistent) interpretation strategies. To grip a handaxe is the only way to appreciate a hand held device (fits like an iPhone)

Tate Hall of @LivUni is now @VictoriaGallery but I remember it as an exam hall without a dolphin hung from ceiling & where I sat last exam of finals looking out of this window onto Ashton Bldg & the 2 sphinxes on top of quad arch as clock bells rang out 12 times for noon

In 1840s goldsmith & major Victorian antiquary Joseph Mayer joined the campaign to establish a public museum in Liverpool. One reason was to keep unoccupied artisans out of pubs. He opened his own Egyptian Museum at 8 Colquitt St in 1852 ..but it's now a PUB!
