Very excited that Six Crimson Cranes by @LizLim came out today. I loved her previous books & cannot wait to read this one.

The sublime Alice in Wonderland illustrations by Tove Jansson for a 1959 Swedish edition of the classic. To break away from the traditional Tenniel illustrations, Jansson would often illustrate new subjects from the book, such as Alice walking with her cat Dinah.
It was #OTD in 1862, that Charles Dodgson would dream up the story that would go on to become Alice in Wonderland.

As a boy, I found the world overwhelming & confusing. Then I discovered the book Alice in Wonderland. In it, Alice navigates her way through a baffling land where nothing made sense - & she survived. This was revelatory for me. That's the power of children's literature.
