I remember I was on a forum and it was universally agreed that the Marvel civilian populace was the greatest villain in the MU.
Anyway Marvel used to have forum banners for the whole event and this was the side I was on. "your all fucked when the hulk get's back.
I'm not counting legacy titles here, and I'm not counting the Inhuman's push because well let's be honest Marvel was just trying to replace X-men. I guess the closest would be champions. Which oh god why.
Hal Jordan being a putz. I don't know how intentional this one is, but go back to the silver age and he gets knocked over all the time. I feel like this is more trying to give a personality that contrasts hard with others.
In fact Grant Morrison is a huge Jimmy Olsen fan of all things, and pointed to his issues dressing up in drag was inspiring to him because he's just cool with it and no one calls him out for it. Jimmy is a man even while wearing a dress and being fab.
That's what I mean when people look at romance for males there is fucked up shit in one for girls too, but I have to hear about falling in love with a quirky girl and why that's bad over Mr.Probably is abusive.
also here's the truth about Romance? You fall in love with interesting not realistic. Like why does the bad boy fall in love trope exist? it's inherently interesting. It's about a guy going through an arc to get better. It can be long and you can be this perfect angel.
Romance for males is a weird genre because of how scrutinized it gets sometimes. Like the genre exists in shonen and seinen but it's feel like people either call it too idealized or try to write weird shit about how it does not represent reality.
So Ironman was just deemed not important in comparison to giving Antman and the other the push as characters. and Like I said Avengers as a comic was meant more for the people who didn't have an ongoing like Ironman.
@xBigCatx @DanGuy96 @SirDemiface Fine have Kylo as the Big Bad Wolf and Rey as Little Red Ridding hood.
