This is a metaphor for something I will let you all tell me because It might be too subtle.
I'm going down to levels of hell I was not prepared for.
*5 seconds in....I have questions....I somehow found this. I don't know how or why it is it just is.
This was consistent untill Marvel thought it might be anti semetic so they retconed him to be Romani in the early 90's. This retcon was later displaced by another comic for Magneto creating a fake identity to hide under. It also established that yes he was Jewish.
So this is a story in comics which had nothing salvaged from it. No good story came from this, and that is rare in American comics actually. Like the Clone Saga is considered bad but people still use elements because there is some good and it took the bad parts out!
Now me having the Essential Spider-man meant I could read those stories, and realize...ooh my god this was a really shaky premise and while there are some plot holes those old stories actually have thought balloons that contradict this shit.
Now I'm going to point something out about Spider-man Blue at the end of the graphic novel it implies that Peter loses his Virginity to Gwen. You can also read old comics and I took notes of this and Gwen and Peter...are kind of saucy.
Anyway why was Sins Past made let's start with Gwen and what she was for Spider-man at this time. You see very much a character put on a pedestal. Many of the creators who grew up with Spider-man loved her and so wrote stuff that romanticized her quite a lot.
This might be an irregular thing but take a a an obscure character and revamp them. This time I'm going with the Jester.
