to be fair mecha never left really there was always a show or two, but build fighters was not talked about in regular anime circles because well it's a basic shonen toy show to them, but for gundam fans and younger fans....it was an intro and a celebration.
Mj story would be she needed time away from Peter after the kid napping and she was in LA and this brings us to the reason in the modern day people like MJ the JMS run. Well get to one more day.....but for now...let's see what it was like before.
*Mj is too hot for Peter Parker.....
sorry writers......and fans.....but Peter is actually attractive himself. Like I know people REALLY buy into that he is perfectly relatable but Peter was never bad at dating or else how is he able to do it so FUCKING OFTEN?
The Ideal Spider-man is the idea that there is this perfect Spider-man who is the best version, the Spider-man who could be used for any story or anything. The one who is the most relatable, the most put upon, the one who can be in class scenarios...
70's had it's own version of weird nostalgia pieces, like the Flintstones having Al Capp's the Schmoo be a major character in a spin off cartoon about Fred and Barney as cops for a while
Plus one reason the comic didn't focus on her, was because they wanted her being Thor to be MYSTERY so you don't get much of her perspective in the comic, thus also making her less of a lead in the book.
and the truth is the run is not actually about Jane, it's about how Thor feels fucking bad for himself now and so must worthy up and you be shocked by how little the comic focuses on her if you read her full run. So it's becomes...kind of moot
