Anyway the story is bad, and their attempt to make a new X-men anti hero failed hard. This is also a digital exclusive comic....and those.....are often forgotten about and buried hard. But yeah they took this once promising character and made her a terrible Poison Ivy.
and that's kind of the thing, the story needed TO JUSTIFY a lot and it doesn't. This story was on some level probably meant to be debated, but I feel like in trying to be controversial and making Nature Girl an anti heroine they JUST SHOT HER IN THE HEAD.
Also here's another element of her BEING A FUCKING GOD DAMN STUPID ASSHOLE, she's like "Oh I just want to protect nature and the animals so I'm now going to command this bear to fight Wolverine the MUTANT FAMOUS FOR BERSERKER RAGES AND KILLING THINGS" fuck you
and here' the thing Wolverine IS SENT to stop her and I can what the story is trying to do, it want a gray morality tale about this girl WHO ONLY WANTS TO SAVE THE PLANET and is just going a bit far, they want a poison ivy story and honestly they are just kind of fucking it up.
Cause here's the thing the STORY starts with her killing....a 7-11 employee essentially. Now here's the thing about this the comic doesn't treat this as HER being completely irredeemable SHE HAS TO FIGHT FOR the EARTH WHO CARES ABOUT THE WORKER?
The story starts in Issue five and goes to 12 I think the problems with the story are mostly well how it portray it's anti heroine. The writers clearly going for a IS SHE JUSTIFIED ANGLE and honestly I just they are fucking it up hard by not realizing she REALLY did go too far.
The white rabbit, Spider-man doesn't have a lot of female villains, and this one also never got some sort of redemption arc.I feel like her also just being funny and unreasonable(She wanted One million...in quarters.) make her a fun threat.
