Watched @DracoTV play Shantae this morning, had to draw her. Tried to match the original style, I think I got pretty close. Love the style!
Practicing high poly detailing on the left, 500k tris. On the right I'm trying to sculpt a 2D sketch. WIP, will finish and paint over later.
Lots of visual problem solving today. Revisited face construction, worked on sketching style, and found a way to make highlights work
Love the rock dude. Technique inspired by pixelart stonework in Owlboy. There's so much you can do with just 8 colors, easier to handle too.
Holy crap these were useful. 30 minutes each, with a bit of time for analysis in between. I can already see clear improvement in the process
Experimented with a different style of rendering today. Ended up a bit of a mess. Probably easier to just do it the normal way o.O
Tried to get the armor to look shiny without spending 2 hours on it. Ended up removing it. I'll rather have it simple than obviously wrong
What a long stream. Learned today that base colors are really important in giving a sketch story and instant recognizability.
Pair of funny little robots, with color this time. I like the left guy more, looks so sad :D
