Went with the wasp instead, ended up looking cool! Doing a separate design day really helped, gonna do that more.

I like these greyscale renders. I think tomorrow I'll spend more time on the design, and do the render the day after

Testing a bunch of stuff today, now I remember why I love opaque brushes! Probably gonna continue this tomorrow

Got rid of lines and improved colors. Looks much better now. Realized the design doesn't really make much sense :D

Progress! Took some time to figure out the transparent grub belly, I like it! Legs look nice and meaty too :D

A viewer had great suggestions for the colors, blue iridescent shell and white translucent grub skin. Thanks!

Didn't really intend to make it so red. Turned out pretty cool though despite the perspective problems :D

Very comfort-zoney, hard to pull off lines + colors in just 2 hours. Testing out smudge brushes for shading :o
