A sketch inspired by a NEW!! Narrow Road script from . A fantastic story focused on Ibo's past and how he came to be a monk. Its been a while since I've spent much time on the Narrow Road and I'm very much looking forward to sharing more over the next few months.

My art projects often come with a lot of twist and turns. After a few test prints, I've decided to start over on this block. I found myself enjoying the line work happening in the fabric, and would like to apply it more broadly. So it's back to the carving board.

I'm calling this second paper mache Tengu done. Although I am working from the same plaster of paris base form, it's exciting to see the variations that can emerge. The upcoming Tengu will be with black beard and mane, and I'll be curious how that shifts his look.

I’m delighted the first Tengu using the plaster of paris mold came out. When I was creating the clay form, I opted to add little facial features, giving me the option to do more with paint. At the same time, I can always build onto the paper mache form with more paper.
