30 July 1794 was a busy day for George III: 10am left arriving Kew at noon; 12.45 left for back to Kew by 6.30; at 7 off in the 'sociable' with the queen for a drive round Richmond Park; back by 9, work till 10, supper, bed by 11.

William of Gloucester (died 1700) had complained of a sore throat at his birthday celebrations on the 24th, on the 26th he had a fever & on the 27th 'went into delirium with short broken sleep & incoherent talk'... he died early on the 30th.

Summer 1786 - John Wilkes claimed to be 'too far exhausted' to last the whole debate on Warren Hastings' role in the Rohilla War, which didn't end till 8am next morning, so 'paired off at 11 on Friday night' & next day headed for Brighton

In summer 1784 Polly Wilkes was in & clearly gasping for a good cup of Wilkes undertook to smuggle some out to her warning 'It must go in small parcels, as it is strongly prohibited'
