How many more tracksuits colors until we can form the Toriyama Squad?

Literally "Upa in Distress", the plot basically involves the main character Patoruzú trying to save his (brother?) Upa from "El Gitano Juaniyo" who apparently likes to steal gullible children for money.

So a while ago y'all voted for me to read Akira Toriyama's short 2000 series Sand Land, and so today I did.

Um yea it sucks.

There's even an Atom Cat manga by Tezuka, which is a parody of his original Mighty Atom manga.

Reminds me of what Toriyama did with Neko Majin Z, catifying their main protagonist in a parody manga.

I see we're getting introduced to Tenma this chapter, along with getting an abridged version of Atom's backstory.

By this point I think most people know his backstory so it makes sense that they wouldn't focus too hard on it.

Ok I'm realizing about 30 minutes later that the guy on the cover of Volume 4 is Dr. Tenma and that's why I asked why we haven't seen him.

I guess my subconscious put two and two together before I could actually realize what was going on.
