Toriyama has also drawn Goku hitting the pose before, though I cannot remember what it was drawn for.

Midori and Senbei mimic the iconic pose of Iyami from Osomatsu-Kun, a 60s manga created by "The Father of Gag Manga" Fujio Akatsuka.

This manga also happened to be a major part of Toriyama's childhood and influential to his comedy and style.

So the caveman version of Ms. Yamabuki is pretty much the exact design Toriyama uses for Ayla in Chrono Trigger.

The core issue: A majority of English speaking kids in the US can't read Japanese.

Not only can they not read Japanese, the characters are borderline undecipherable (in most part due to the fact that it doesn't follow the Roman alphabet).

I wanted to take today to talk about one of the smaller but more controversial topics in the Dragon Ball community: Redrawing Sound Effects for English releases.

I thought it'd be a subject of where I'd stand firmly on one side, but I've found myself seeing merit in both sides.
