Alright I'm back on my Pluto manga bullshit because this manga is great and you savages need to be educated on it.

I just made it up to Volume 2 where we meet Astro/Atom

Looks like Volume 2 is going to be centered around Astro.

Where in Astro Boy Mont Blanc just dies and we get a two second news blurb on the news, this manga dedicates an entire segment and funeral for Mont Blanc, going over his life and many achievements.

I just finished doing (another) thread on Astro Boy's "Greatest Robot in the World" arc yesterday, and a few people mentioned the manga Pluto, which is a modern adaptation of the famous arc.

I thought I'd do a live thread on it as I read it.

Disney animation would be a huge influencing art factor (among others) on "father of manga" Osamu Tezuka, most notable for his "Mighty Atom" (aka Astro Boy in the USA) manga.

Fleischer Studios in Miami would eventually be ousted from the brothers and converted to Famous Studios. From this point, we start to see even more racism in their works, including the infamous "You're a sap, Mr. Jap" WWII propaganda cartoon.
