She meets up with Letty (who may I add, is looking VERY handsome today), who says that Cirno's last letter to her was right - "they" really had appeared on time. The two of them then head to the Hakurei Shrine.

Alice warns that over the next few days, Gensokyo - specifically, the Hakurei Shrine - is going to have some unwanted visitors. We cut to a different location, where Cirno announces to the Prismrivers (weird group, huh) that she's going to become the protagonist.

Alice explains that in the past, Spell Cards known as easy today were regarded as impossible to capture. Then, one day, people started capturing them just fine... Marisa then shows up to steal Aice's show, explaining that it was due to replays circulating online.

Today, I'd like to show off an old RPG made by Hachikuma called Touhou Meiiden: Defiant of Shrine Maiden. It's often called "Touhou Maiden" in the English community but I question whether that was the original intent so I'm going to keep calling it Meiiden.

That's as far as I played and I didn't show everything off, but the game has a lot more content than this. You can go to all of the big places from Touhou 6-13. Animal raising is unlocked later, and fishing was also added into the game in a patch! Here's a bonus Shanghai.

You can visit the graveyard, too, which is full of rocks - you can send helpers to mine at the forest, and can probably send them here later, too. I also ran across a stray bucket who seems to have wandered up to the surface.

Everyone's favorite character is present at the Myouren Temple. (Ichirin is hidden underneath his sculpted jawline, I swear.)

On day 10, I sell my strawberries for a few thousand yen and Alice tells me how to get to the Forest of Magic. I go there and meet Nazrin, who gives me directions to the Myouren Temple. Tokiko pops up here to give you info on Kourindou, too - that's where you buy your tools.

Saving the game makes a random character pop up with their own dialogue! I only saved a few times during my session but I think I saw Seija, Sanae, and Reimu.

Here's the status menu. You can see your money, your fatigue level (a nice addition!), and your tool EXP, among other things. You start with a hoe and watering can and get can the usual others later. For now, you just pick up and throw junk when clearing your field.
