In the manga, the TB is always shown taking place over a single day, but the OG DB anime makes the first three tournaments into multi-day affairs. By the Buu arc though, the idea that the entire tournament takes only a single day becomes an important plot point.

First, as the announcer notes, wolfmen are out of luck. But equally victimized is Man-Wolf, a wolf(man) who turns into a man-man during the full moon. This will later come back to bite Roshi (almost literally).

Before the fighting starts though, Roshi gives the boys a pair of Turtle School uniforms. A bit on the gaudy side, but I suppose they’ll do for now...

Still, Roshi rewards the boys’ achievement by doubling their shell weight for the final month (...yippy). And with that, Goku’s finally ready for his first tournament!

They do some sprints, then Roshi has the boys compete to find a specific stone. At this point the sun’s going down, so per D7 this is finally the end of September 10th. The closing narration reveals that everyone besides Goku is bedridden for the next three days. Good ol’ fugu...

After several attempts to find a girl to Roshi’s liking (plus Kuririn’s arrival), they finally hit pay dirt with the only occasionally homicidal Lunch. The group moves to a bigger island to begin hard-core training.

Goku briefly returns to his home and then heads over to Roshi’s. There’s no explicit indication that any further days have passed, so Daizenshuu 7 puts this on September 10th, the same day he left Bulma and co.

Oolong immediately spots Goku for an alien, but who cares what he thinks? He’s just a pig!

Thanks to @Terez27 for checking out things on the anime side. Also, here’s one last colored page.

Tomorrow: milk run!
