愛娘 (lit:"beloved daughter")
Like Flower Garden, this is another one I couldn't find a good one-word version of. And besides, everyone loves alliteration.
DAUGHTER DEAREST
草原 (lit:"meadow")
Probably the most straightforward of the bunch. Reasonable enough as a moniker, fits the dictionary definition, makes sense with her talent, bada bing bada boom.
MEADOW
忘我 (lit:"ecstacy, trance")
Hoo boy. This one gave me more trouble than the rest combined, as there's some wordplay here that gets explained later that I needed to preserve. There are series you can translate just fine without reading ahead, but Spy Classroom is not one of them.
花園 (lit: "flower garden")
One idea I was toying around with at first was having all the code names be one word long to mirror how compact they are in Japanese, but any one-word version of "flower garden" I came up with lost more meaning than I was happy with.
FLOWER GARDEN
Heya! Rook here. Spy Classroom's been out for a bit now and people have had some time to read it, so I thought I'd do a thread on my process for translating the main cast's code names. This will have major spoilers for v1, so steer clear if you haven't finished it yet!
